Before the Cybershot series was given its very own ‘C’ denotation, the line fell under the ‘K’ series of Sony Ericsson. Among these older Cybershot mobile phones, the K810i was one of the top of the line when released, and so it should be no surprise that, even today, it still remains relevant as one of the better mobile cameraphones in the market. By concentrating to a fault on the camera aspect of the mobile phone, Sony Ericsson sought, and succeeded, in redefining the manner in which the cameraphone was viewed.

Features of the Sony Ericsson K810i

Firstly, and lastly, there is the camera. At 3.2 megapixels of definition, it is, of course, not nearly as good as the 5.0 megapixel monstrosities of today. Yet, all the same, 3.2 megapixels is still plenty, and certainly good enough for capturing digital images. Indeed, with the included autofocus technology and a fully fledged Xenon flash to boot, there is little that the K810i cannot accomplish in terms of being a camera.

By sharing most of its features with the hugely successful K800i, the one very visible difference is that the K810i is much, much slimmer. At 17 mm as opposed to 22 mm, the difference of 5 mm really does tell as the K810i feels much more portable, and appears sleek and smooth, giving it a really nice look.

Along with image capturing abilities, come the image editing abilities. Some are done automatically, for instance, with the PhotoFix feature, the balance of colour is automatically edited for users. Also, and of much clearer benefit, is the BestPic feature whereby nine photos are taken in the span of a second after the ‘click’. Following this, the user may choose whichever he or she feels like and avoiding the hair-tearing experience of people blinking at the wrong moments or sudden flashes of reflected light interfering with the shot.

Of course the other common features are all there, from media player, to memory stick support, Bluetooth, and so on. But really, it is the camera that makes this mobile phone stand out, and is the main attraction with the rest merely sideshows.

Still Relevant as a Cameraphone Option

As was noted previously, in the ensuing period since its launch, the K810i has been surpassed by other handsets, yet it is far from being rendered obsolete. Most of the technology is still very much in use, and the only real difference is perhaps the lack of face recognition technology as well as the lower resolution on the camera itself.

Still, for anyone looking at mobile phone deals involving cameraphones, and not wanting to shell out a bomb on the latest, and therefore most expensive, mobile phones, the Sony Ericsson K810i remains a solid, reliable and completely feasible option. For all but a professional photographer, 3.2 megapixels can deliver the sort of quality that is desired and sought for a fraction of the price.

Of course, if it is felt that another one of the many mobile phone deals available might be better, then there is a complete new range of Cybershot phones, with 5 megapixel cameras, that might be of greater interest.

The Sony Ericsson W910i is yet another phone in the Walkman phone series. It is a very slim slide phone that includes a Walkman 3.0 player, an FM radio, a 2 megapixel camera with 2.5 digital zoom, HSDPA and shake control and a video camera. It also includes a bass frequency enhancer, TrackID, Play Now, and a series of MP3 ringtones. You will also find a speaker phone and sound recorder. Those are some of the main features of the phone, but there are many more that are of less importance to those looking for a Walkman phone.

On the down side, there are some reports of the Sony Ericsson W910i freezing and turning itself off. Before you make the decision to buy or not buy this model, you want to read all of the reviews to discover if this is a common problem or an isolated one. Even if it common, you may still want the phone based on the other features. It is often the production of a product that makes it lack in quality—too much effort is placed on speed rather than quality.

The Sony Ericsson W910i is only 12.5mm thick and has a tapered bottom edge with a very slim profile. When you slide the unit closed, you can see the music controls. Unlike the joystick that appears of many other models, the W910i has a circular navigational key. The screen is large with a high resolution that makes it easy to read. The menus are sharp and are not difficult to navigate like with some phones.

Once you open the keypad on the W910i, you will see the entire keypad. The keys on this model are larger and flatter than on most other models, yet it is still more difficult to use than several competitor’s models. The keypad is mediocre for texting—not fast but not really slow either. Perhaps SE will find the right keypad for the phones instead of changing them with every new release.

Like all of the phones in the “W” series, the W910i is a music phone rather than a camera phone. It is compatible with both a conventional stereo and Bluetooth headset. The music controls are positioned on the front of the phone and is completely digital. With the software that is included with the phone, you can transfer music from PC to phone and add music from CDs. The phone is only capable of storing 35Mb, but you can purchase memory cards that will expand to 4GB. It also includes an FM radio with RDS.

The camera is average with 2 megapixels and no autofocus. You want to remember, however, that this is a music phone and not a Cybershot camera phone. You also want to consider any Sony Ericsson W910i review you may read—many people have problems with this phone. If you have good insurance on your phone, you may be fine with it. Otherwise, you may want to look at other options.

Is it a camera phone or a music phone? This is one of the most common questions that mobile phone users ask nowadays.

This is because you will rarely find a mobile phone which has outstanding features on both counts. It can either be a really good music phone, with average camera functionality. Or, it can be a really great camera phone, with the music player thrown in as an added feature.

A Brief Look at the Sony Ericsson K770i

So is the Sony Ericsson K770i a camera phone or a music phone? Since the unit belongs to Sony Ericsson’s line of ‘Cyber-shot’ phones, it is definitely considered as more of a camera phone.

Here is a preview of the features included in the Sony Ericsson K770i Cybershot phone:
- TFT, 1.9-inch 240×320 pixel display
- 16 MB internal memory
- 3.2 Megapixel built-in digital camera
- MP3, AAC, WAV, WMA and m4a music player
- FM radio
- 3G, GPRS, Bluetooth and A2DP connectivity

Sony Ericsson K770i: Decide on the Design

The Sony Ericsson K770i is a candy bar phone which is available in funky colours like Ultra Violet, Truffle Brown and Sandy Beige. With these eye-catching hues to choose from, you will also enjoy the matt finish which feels like satin to the hands.

If you are the type of mobile phone user who always struggles with unlocking your phone no matter how long you have been using it – the Sony Ericsson K770i will not give you such problems. It has a slider lock which is a hassle-free way to access the main menu of your mobile phone.

What about the Sony Ericsson K770i as a Part of the ‘Cybershot’ Series?

As previously mentioned, the Sony Ericsson K770i is part of the Cybershot series. Naturally, you would expect a member of the Cybershot family to be a really great camera phone.

First, this mobile phone has a 3.2 Megapixel built-in digital camera. The lens cover of the Sony Ericsson K770i is a metal slider located on the back of the phone. There is a micro mirror so that you can conveniently take photos of yourself.

The problem is that the Sony Ericsson K770i has become an all-around phone instead of mastering the Cybershot technology. There is no Xenon flash, which is a glaring omission design-wise. To make up for this, you can use a photo light which can probably brighten up night shots – but not so much.

The Verdict for the Sony Ericsson K770i

Check out the Sony Ericsson K770i review from online users and you will see that it is more of an all-around phone than an excellent camera phone.

The Sony Ericsson K770i has 3G video calling capabilities, it has a good music player, an FM radio and the overall design is more sleek than its predecessors.

As long as you don’t expect much from the

The Sony Ericsson C902 is a cyber-shot phone that is the successor to the K850. Beginning with the C702 and this model Sony will no longer call them cyber-shot phones but just “C” series. The Sony Ericsson C902 is from a higher class than its predecessor and comes with a 5 megapixel camera that comes complete with a brand new type of flash that Sony calls a PhotoFlash. Except for a slimmer design and an enhanced interface in the camera there are few improvements in the specifications for the Sony Ericsson C902 compared to the K850.

The Sony Ericsson C902 also has a different design than the K850. This new design is called the candybar design and is about 40% slimmer than the K850 with a sleeker and classier look. The TFT display on the Sony Ericsson C902 is 2.0″ compared to the 2.2″ on the K850 but it still has the same resolution. It was necessary to reduce the TFT display because of the touch shortcuts that were added to both sides on this model.

The lid on the Sony Ericsson C902 protects both cameras that are included on this model. You will open the lid manually revealing both cameras but one is used for video calling, and you do not need to open the lid to use it. Except for a few shortcuts that have been added to the keypad, the camera’s interface remains the same as in the K850. These are just minor changes and should have no effect on the user’s ability to operate either camera.

The importance of the Sony Ericsson C902 is in Sony’s ability to keep up with the future needs and desires of its users. The way Sony identifies its phones by class makes it easier for a user to identify the classification they need. For example, the “W” series is the Walkman phones which have higher quality music players where as the “C” series concentrates on the quality of the camera’s output. The only bad part is that so far Sony has not come up with a music phone that has high quality picture and video capabilities.

Making the choice to switch to the Sony Ericsson C902 means you are taking a step into the new generation of cell phones. At the present time it doesn’t appear that there is a Sony Ericsson C902 review available since both the C702 and C902 are still prototypes. That doesn’t mean anyone should hold off ordering one when mobile phone deals become available because Sony Ericsson has a reputation to uphold and will not put something on the market that they have not tested themselves. If you’re looking for a quality camera phone with excellent video capabilities, the Sony Ericsson C902 is definitely a good choice to make. You want to make sure you keep it in mind when you are ready to buy a new camera phone and be sure to obtain a date from your carrier when it will be available.

With so many companies using mobile devices to stay in touch with employees on the road, there is little doubt they are looking at those with high quality cameras in order to capture those moments that are of great importance. Many times employees go to trade shows and meet customers or vendors, and at these times the quality of a camera phone is essential. The same is true of those who are traveling for personal reasons or just have local events they wish to capture on camera.

It’s essential to have a high quality camera phone for home or business because you never know when you may be in a position where you need a photograph or a video, and the only camera you have available is on your cell phone. If you don’t make it a point to have a high quality camera phone like the one on the Sony Ericsson C902, you will be disappointed when it comes take to take a photo or capture an event on video.

Although one is not going to capture an entire event on the video feature of your Sony Ericsson C902, you can capture clips of events that are of importance. The choice you make in a camera phone should be based upon quality, and with the Sony Ericsson C902, you can be certain you will find quality in all of the features of the phone. Choosing the Sony Ericsson C902 as your personal or business camera phone is a wise decision indeed.

Many companies today are opting to pay a portion of the cell phone bill for their employees instead of purchasing a line of cell phones. That makes many cell phones a combination of personal and business and thus the need for both business and personal features are necessary. You need features like email, Internet access, and camera phone all of which you will find with the Sony Ericsson C902. In many cases it’s better for an employee to use his own phone since many companies go with basic plans that don’t include many features, thus leaving the employee with the need to tote a laptop every where he or she goes.

Don’t hesitate to read a Sony Ericsson C902 review before you make a final decision. The quality that goes into every Sony Ericsson phone make it a done deal whenever mobile phone deals become available on this particular model. You want to look at each feature individually before you make your final decision, but there is little doubt you will choose the Sony Ericsson C902 for the many features it offers for both personal and business use. The only feature that some users may find cumbersome is that it uses a keypad instead of the QWERTY keyboard, but this model is a camera phone and not a smartphone; thus, you don’t usually find a QWERTY keyboard on any phone that is not in the smartphone category.
